420, 430 are both "catalyst below threshold" for banks one and two, so I'm guessing that means a problem with the catalytic converter. Get that checked.

1400 I can't find, but I'm sure someone here can help you out. If it's 0400 it's a problem with the EGR system.

301 is a misfire in the #1 cylinder, which could be related to the problems with the catalytic converter(s). If you have a duratec engine (DOHC), you'll have two cats to go with the two exhaust pipes, unless I'm dearly mistaken.

Good luck.

What year is your Taurus and which engine do you have?

Re: its happein again

From your Private Message I see you have a 1996 wagon.

Per the factory service manual, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1400 indicates that Self-Test has detected a DPFE SIG circuit input below the minimum.

Possible causes:

-- Leaking upstream pressure hose.

-- DPFE SIG shorted to GND or SIG RTN.

-- VREF shorted to GND or SIG RTN.

-- Damaged D.P.F. EGR sensor.

-- Damaged PCM.

The DPFE has been a rather common issue with the Taurus and would effect both cylinder banks. This might be a good place to start.

A misfire of cylinder #1 would typically only effect bank 1.
