How manny miles?
Well i am proud to say i own a 88 silverado 4x4 long bed regular cab with a 350 and she has 195,000 on her and still runs strong. How manny miles do you guys have on yours? How long will they normaly last if you take decent care of them befor the start to poop out? I think i might be able to get 250,000 out of mine.

Re: How manny miles?
1988 GMC 1500, 350/700R4/4x4 - 245,000. Alternator, water pump, otherwise only maintenance
1989 Chev 1500 350/5spd/4x4 - 260,000. Second engine at 120,000, 2nd tranny at 140,000, since then it's been oil and filters and a lot of gas. 1988 Chev (same stuff as GMC) -255,000. Crate engine at 120,000, swapped in used 350TH at 220,000. Finally sold them all and bought silverados, hopefullly they'll last as long. |

Re: How manny miles?
My 1994 silverado just got its first replacement engine and transmission (350 and 4l60e) at 311,450. The transmission wasn't broke but while the motor was out I had it remanufactured with a new converter. I already have the block at the machine shop and .030 is going to clear it up. The old bearing still looked great after all these miles. ( it gets a fresh crank and bearings though) I'm amazed it has no more wear than that. It was as gummed up as any I've ever seen though.

Re: How manny miles?
I've got a 1998 2500HD, 4x4, 5.7L, 4L80E. 325,200 miles with original engine, transmission, and running gear. Nothing but regular maintenance, alternator, starter, fuel pump.
Had a 1993 2500, 4x4, 5.7L, 5spd. 440,000 miles on it with original motor, 2 transmissions, head gasket, original running gear, regular maintenance, water pump, starter, alternator. Both trucks have been used to haul a lot of heavy loads and trailers. Awesome Trucks!
