Angry Front bumper cost??

Saturday morning everything going good! taking daughter to gymnastics. Head out in Windstar that i just had worked on for $500+ to fix heater. At stop sign, man in GMC Truck right turn signal on, he is going to turn on street that i am pulling out of. He goes to turn actually starts making the turn, Road is clear I pull out! HE changes his MIND and does NOT Turn. He literally has to go into the other lane to go around me BUT not enough his rear tire hits my bumper right side and almost tears the whole thing off. Nothing else is damaged but the bumper. Insurance Deduct is $750 so thinking not worth turning it in and dont want that to go up! Anyone know the about cost of a front bumper in Blue?? neither was charged in accident, he got ticket for improper use of turn signal and me failure to yield... HELLO he was turning and started to. which he also told the cop... oh well. grrrrr!!!

Re: Front bumper cost??

Sounds like a great case for small claims court. If the other driver actually received a ticket like you stated you have an excellent chance in winning your case. I would still check with your insurance company and see what they say about this. This has happened to me before and my rates didn't go up- called a not at fault accident and the deductable I paid for the repairs was reimbursed by the other drivers ins company.
According to 1stfordparts a front bumper cover for a 2002 SE/SEL/ and Limited runs $325.12, the Sport model is $359.32. That's painted too.

Re: Front bumper cost??

Hi

Thanks for posting. We both actually got tickets his was improper use of turn signal, mine was failure to yield. I will tell my husband though about the small claims. He and my husband talked afterwards and we exchanged ph. #'s so hopefully he will be nice guy and offer to help on cost. My husband is going to call him as soon as i get estimate on Monday.

Re: Front bumper cost??

Kind of suprising tickets were issued if the police didn't actually see the crash, especially the turn signal one.

THATS A GOOD DEAL AND PAINTED TOO????
As for your ticket. you got a failure to yield.? Well the bad news is your insurance may still go up. Even though he got a ticket as well you got the the Failuer to yield right of way.. Thats Automatic accident code in My state.. Hopefully if you and the other guy are willing to talk maybe you both can go to the DA usally at 4pm not too close to 5pm and if yall are both willing to settle it, you can get the tickets dismissed.. As for improper use of signal unless the officer wrote in accident was caused, he could get off scott free..I know alot of lawyers, some are in the fam.Hope everything works out..

Re: Front bumper cost??

Hi

I am planning to go to court in March over this accident. It was crazy for writing the tickets the way the officer did. The other guy told him he had on blinker, started to make the turn and changed his mind and BAM! got me instead. I am not turning it into Insurance it is going to cost $830 for bumper and syrofoam (expensive stuff) so going to pay out of pocket and kind of have to deductible is $1000 on the windstar.

Expensive month for fixing this car. The heater was the door flaps they had to be replaced so they had to pull the front of the dash out to get to it and that cost $560 about 3 wks. ago.

I need to win the Lotto!
