Engine Swap

Ok here is my question. I have a 1998 3.3l motor in my Voyager. I was wondering if anyone knew if a newer motor or even a 3.8 liter will fit in there. And Could I use same tranny or would need to swap too if went with 3.8 liter.

Re: Engine Swap

Hey Hawk,
I have a 95 T&C that had the 3.8 in it which was shot and I had a 93 Caravan with the 3.3 in it.The only problem I had was that the T&C had a digital dash and the Caravan did not,so when I hooked up the wire harness it blew the computer upwhen I tried to start it.After finding another T&C with a digital dash and getting the computer, engine wire hasness, cam sensor and o2 sensor and installing them the van started and has run fine since. The 3.8 trans hooked right up to the 3.3.After doing the engine swap on it I also had to cycle the key 50 times to reset the computer. The manual says you have to do that even if you unhook the battery.Like I said, this is on a 95,but i'm sure the 98 should be about the same.
