Radiator Replace

My daughter's boyfriend helped her fix a leak and now the top inlet to the radiator is crushed. My manual says nothing about replacing the radiator. I was wondering if it is a fairly normal effort or if there are some items that need to be moved or some difficult to reach bolts? I am just trying to guage how much time to allocate.

Thanks,

Steve W.

Re: Radiator Replace

The radiator is pretty simple to remove. You will have i think 4 bolts on each fan to remove and 2 electrical plugs. Then ofcourse the hoses on the radiator. Then you just have I believe 4 bolts on the top that you have to remove and it slides right on out. You have to be careful on the hose necks on Honda radiators because they are usually pretty fragile unless you happen to get one thats metal.

Re: Radiator Replace

Unless it's an automatic, then you have transmission lines too. I just changed mine last weekend. Also, my a/c hoses were kind of a pain, but it didn't work anyway, so I just unhooked them and left them off. I also think that there is only 2 bolts on the top of each fan, and the bottom part snapped down into place. Hope this helps.

Re: Radiator Replace

Well I didn't specify how many hoses because I didn't know if its an auto or not. Doesn't matter if its auto or not, it will have the necks at the bottom. As for the bolts on the fans, you might be correct, I haven't pulled the fans for awhile on these. Just the steps I usually go through on any car removing the radiator or fans.

Re: Radiator Replace

Thanks for the tips. I ordered the parts but it looks like a post Super Bowl project.

Thanks Again,

Steve W.
