My 1994 ford taurus has saggy rear shocks, after i turn the car of it makes a winding noise in the back.....to me it sound like a fuel pump but from others i heard it might be air shocks that are trying to fill!
If someone knows what it might be...... please give me some hinters Thank You |

Re: 94 ford taurus rear shocks
You don't have shocks, you've got struts.. It's possible you have broken springs if it's sagging, common occurence on these cars.

Re: 94 ford taurus rear shocks
Shocks/struts won't make a car sag, but as TaurusKing mentions, you may have broken springs in the rear.
As for the "winding noise" you are probably right about the sound being a fuel pump. Unless air suspension was added aftermarket, it won't be air suspension. How long does the "winding noise" last after you turn the car off? Are you sure it's coming from the rear and not under the hood? Does the noise gradually fade away, or does it just all of a sudden turn off? If after the car has sat for a few minutes, you turn the key to the "Run" position, does it make a similar "winding noise?" -Rod |
