My shifter broke inside of the steering column of my '97 s-10 with a 4.3 litre. The alloy metal plate that is fastened with two srews cracked inhalf and the upper screw hole on the column broke away. It looks like a case of replacing the entire column but would like to know if it would be easier and possible to replace with an aftermarket floor shift from B&M or HURST. B&M makes a shifter for light trucks but I'm not sure if it will fit the transmission on my truck. I have PARK, R, D, 3, 2 1, and most of the aftermarket shifters I have seen don't have the extra forward gear range. Does anyone know for sure if there is a kit out there and who makes it?
