Acceleration Problem

Seems like when I try to accelerate too fast (lots of gas pedal) there are times when the throtle response seems hesitant. i'm thinking it could be several things: Air Filter (i have an K&N...but i need to clean it), spark plugs need replacement, injectors are clogged, spark plug cables, and i may need a tune-up. I'll start with the cheap stuff... since I need to replace those parts anyway. Does anyone think it's something else?

Re: Acceleration Problem

I replaced the air filter and that seemed to help a little. I will replace the spark plugs and wires and do a compression check while I'm at it. I've been slacking on some of the maintenance and now it's catching up to me. My ZX2 has about 170,800 miles and those are the original plugs and wires. I will also be doing much more other required maintenance, so I'll probably post more questions and stuff on the forum. Reading all these forums made me want to do more stuff to my car... it's cool stuff. I used to have NOS but I removed it because I was worried about the engine getting damaged. I've done some stuff like replaced the radiator, brakes, oil change, intake mod, AIT mod, water pump replacement, rotors replaced, and stuff like that. Couple years ago, my tranny died so I took it to a shop and they rebuilt it. Also... about a year ago, I neglected to check my timing belt and tensioner pulley... so I got stranded on a highway and had to get my car towed. The shop had to replace my timing belt and pulley (I'll take pictures of the old pulley... man... the thing was shot. It ceased up and busted the belt). Well... I'll let you know how I made out with the compression check and everything else. BTW... I need to replace the alternator also (I'll be doing all this this weekend)
