Points gap for a 79 Accord
Just bought a '79 Accord (only 98,000 km - genuine: service history to prove). Want to replace points and plugs (last changed about eight years ago !) What should the points gap be ? Can't find that info anywhere on the net and today is Sunday, so no Honda garage open, to ask them

Re: Points gap for a 79 Accord
Wow, haven't worked on that vintage in a long time! The first car I ever drove was a 1976 Accord (with a manual choke, no less)....
I'd suggest .020". I'm going a bit on memory, and will do some research. But in the meantime, I'd go with .020". If it is too small, you'll know it because the engine will be jerky, and the tach needle with jump like a fishing pole when a fish is biting.....Glen |
