Lightbulb civic distributors

ok so ive really started to notice civic distributors are absolutely problem ridden. my first one kinda crapped out and cause and extreme timing advance just packing fuel into my cylinder and my dizzy now had the center shaft freeze. has anyone else has bad luck with these stupid things.

Re: civic distributors

I've actually taken perfect working distributers off to pull the motor, set them down on a shelf, and had them not work when I put them back on. Apperantly they just decide to work when it's convienent for them.

Re: civic distributors

heh... if you're running a 4th gen, all the dizzy's are the same... the only diff is when you use a DPFI dizz for a MPFI setup... you need to "add" the CPS... have fun with that.. I've never tried it.. been told it can be done... but before you start buying stuff for your "Si"... make sure HF or other parts won't fit it.

The HF dizzy WORKS PERFECTLY with the MPFI swap... there is NO DIFFERENCE IN THE PARTS... NOT EVEN IN THE COILS.

Re: civic distributors

well price im sure for the hf and si dizzy are about the same. as for adding shit to a dpfi dizzy. why bother those thigns new or rebuild cost more then the si ones do. and anything used in the dizzy department is unreliable. or more trouble then its worth. as for me well ill keep to my dx convert. with crx si parts.
