wife stuck need help 1994 canadian sub

its a 1994 canadian build suburban. she had no trouble at all then tonight she visited a freind for dinner the car sat for about 3 hours in about 15 degree temp (F). and now the temp gauge is at hot the oil is reading 40 the check gauges light is on and it wont start. the exhause pipe smells like gas. the engine cranks over.she is away on a trip about 1000 miles from me and I need to get it fixed help me please.

No quick fix here, someone needs to check for spark and fuel spray from the injectors, basic primary diagnostics.

in the end it was a short under the dash caused by a mouse building a nest

Sounds like a fuel pump issue...when I had my tahoe everything was in working order except no fuel was getting to the engine...she turned over and everything...ask her if she hears the fuel pump turn on when the key is turned...if there isn't a whine the fuel pump may be dead and needs to be replaced.
