Re: Major Poblem
How bad is it? Try to get some pics of it, it may or may not be worth repairing.
If its too bad you might have to buy a donor car and have patches cut from it and welded into your car. If the damage is so bad you have no good metal to weld a patch to, you might have to switch all the stuff from your car over to a car with less rust. You can buy a donor car for a couple hundred bucks. |

Re: Major Poblem
cut out that part of the floor, clean it up and weld on some steel plate. prime and paint, cover with underseal.

Re: Major Poblem
what is the problem. you go to autobody supplier and he can supply a new panel for floor there is no need to cut out used scrap off of donor car. i am a certified retired welder and have fixed these minor problems many times sure is cheaper than buying new car. if you cant weld find a good welder but this is nothing but time. the pieces do not need to be continuous welded all around but good stich welds and entire edge of new to old loaded with a quality seam sealer. good luck.

EDIT: Third gens have certain spots that are known for rusting. These areas usually go way before the floors give out as bad as what chevcamaro86 has described. Once the floor is that bad off, usually its too late for the cars chassis. I would look at the car VERY close at the car on a lift and see how bad it really is. |
