Tick Tick Tick... Need Valve Lifters!

I called Discount auto parts for Valve lifters, thinking they would be around $180-$200ish. I told him I have a 98 but I need 99 valve lifters, he says final score was 700bucks

I saw that old thread on lifters that where $168 on ebay but there are not easily found on ebay anymore. Does anyone know a good place I get them cheap?

Re: Tick Tick Tick... Need Valve Lifters!

you're SOHC right? you need half as many

from GB link:
EDIT 8: After doing some research for a SOHC owner, I believe the SOHC engines do not have lifters and if anyone has sent payment for a "half" set then I have emailed the seller informing him that you may want it to be refunded. You can still buy 12 lifters if you desire, however, from what I have found, the SOHC engine does not have lifters like the DOHC engines; they use a rocker arm to open the valves. If you would still like to buy only 12 (or another number for a different Mitsubishi application) then you are more than welcome to just let the seller know in your paypal payment that you are aware of the fact that these will not work in the SOHC engine and would still like to buy them anyway. If there are further questions regarding this, please let me know.
