Roof Damage
How would you go about repairing a damaged roof from a branch falling? Is it all one piece going down to the bottum of windshield? Would the front & rear windshields have to be taken out and replaced? Any $$ estimates?
Where could you get this part? Or would some kind of dent remover work? ![]() ![]() |

Re: Roof Damage
Damage that bad will take some serious body work. To replace the top requires a rear clip. You are talking mega bucks for labor. Take it to a body shop and get an estimate. Both the front and rear windows will need to come out and then the repair can be made. Get your check book out as this will not be cheap either.

Re: Roof Damage
Ah - I havent actually bought this yet. I've been looking for the best car I can get for cheapest amount and saw this.. I dunno - the damage isnt that bad - it's only a high school car. I'm wondering if the weatherstripping needs to be replaced though? Looks like there could be some gaps.

Re: Roof Damage
Yes that would need a new roof.
It is sold as one top piece, here is a pic of what would be replaced. ![]() It could cost up to $2k to fix depending where you live, and it might leak after wards if its not done right.

Re: Roof Damage
Well - what's the most you would pay for that car if you didnt mind the minor roof damage? I really dont think I would mind that little bit of damage.
It's a '00 Grand Am SE V6 Sedan w/91k that also has a broken mirror and new tires - What's the most this would be worth? |

Re: Roof Damage
Thats a plus then.
If you got the car for real cheap, like $2-3k, and if it runs and looks OK otherwise. Just all that top has to be removed. And everything inside needs to also be removed so you can cut and reweld the top on. So the seats and other areas inside need covered or removed too so they dont get damaged from the work that needs done. Quiet a little project too
