Acrylic Thinner Questions HELP HELP HELP!!

I don't know if the question has been asked before.
I purchased some acrylic thinner the link below is the one

Here's the question I'm using Tamiya paints and the directions on the Polly S Thinner says to use %60 Paint and %40 thinner.
So I proceeded to do so and I had some paint spec's like the paint mixture was too thick. But the paint wasn't sputtering and the mixture was fairly thin but the result was awful. The finish looked flat and I was using gloss white X-2.

Before this I was using Isopropyl alcohol to dilute the paint which was giving me good results. The link below gave me an answer to my dilemma ( scroll down until VI. Tips on Cleaning an Airbrush question 2) but I want to know what you guy's and girl's think about this.

Tamiya gloss acrylics respond best to Tamiya acrylic thinner (hmmm ) while you can probably just use plain old isopropyl alcohol with their flats.

I have also heard windshield washer fluid works great with their gloss paints, haven't tried it myself though.

Rubbing,Isopropyl or denatured alcohol has always worked for me. I have also used nail polish remover(acetone) Washer fluid was supposed to work well with the old PACTRA acylics which are now floquil, I never did try it.

I gave up with finding what cheap solutions work, I've found that using Tamiya thinner w/Tamiya acrylics is very cost effective...because it's made for the stuff and works perfectly every time.

Same goes for other brands, just use their own brand of thinner. There are too many different formulas for acrylics for anyone to remember all of them.

As for cleaning my airbrush, I can use cheap lacquer thinner or windex to clean out Tamiya acrylics.

i used that exact same polly scale thinner when i first started airbrushing acrylics. i found that different paint brands require different paint:thinner ratio and that there are other cheaper thinners available.
i now use rubbing alcohol for most acrylic brands and windex for cleaning. windex also works great stripping acrylic paints. just don't keep the plastic in windex for too long(hours) cuz i had my camaro body get messed up once.

Tamiya!!!!!!!

i jsut buy da big 250ml from japan for TAMIYA acrylics, works da best on the gloss... i've tried 99% isopropyl on the flats and semi gloss and it worked fine as well..

some people say the isopropyl will make ur gloss paints turn flat, so i use the tamiya for all da glosses..

to clean my airbrush, i run 99% iso out of the brush at ~25-30psi

Great thanks guys it really pisses me off when the guys that work at your local hobby shop...well mine at least won't and will not answer your questions or act dumb!
Either they are just being a total ASS or they are being plain dumb!
I asked him if this works better than or will give me the same results as Isopropyl Alcohol. He just shrugged and said rubbing alcohol I wouldn't use that. I said I have and it has been giving my good results. I just want to try this and see if it's better or not.
....Then he said I don't know!!arrrgggg.....

Well I basically said to his co-worker if he works here with this ass all day long? He said yah. I said well if I had to work this this bastard I would kill myself!!
He said nothing and I said The only reason I shop at this crap store is for your cheap Tamiya paints.
I know it was a harsh statement and a little immature but this turkey drives me nuts everytime I go in.

Hey Mr Mario don't worry about rambling on we've all aired gripes or problems here before, and no doubt we all have the same problems with some dumb-ass.
The guy who owns/works at my local model shop is a complete utter dick-head ask him about R.C Aeroplanes and he's knows anything and everything but ask him about scale models and his answer is the same everytime 'sorry mate, I haven't got a clue'...
ARRGHH!! Well give me the job you ass, at least I would know something about what I sell!!!!
