new car

well, since my crx was stolen, i am in need of a new car. I have an '01 jetta i am trading in and have been looking for a new car. I looked at the mazdaspeed 3. 263 HP sounds good and a starting price of 22k sounded great. I get to the dealer and there is a 4850 dealer adjusted price increase due t high demand. Has anyone else heard of this bullshit? i test drove a regular hatch and it seemed pretty sweet, for what it was. Then i ask how much and he said 20k. This is for an '06 with 8500 miles and only 4/48 warranty. I go check out the honda dealership and they have a bunch of SI's. I need a 4 door for the kids. They have one for 22,085. Going to test drive it right now. It is more than i want to spend. Our most economical choice is a fit, but they are out of stock and wont get one for a month. basicaly i hope to get 6500 for my trade and not finance any more than 16k. Any ideas on rides? This is the first time in my life i have no idea what i want to buy.

Re: new car

I would say a Honda but you've thrown out a few of my choices, sooo I do love the new VW's I would suggest checking out the new Golf or Rabbit (I'd prolly get the rabbit considering they're the same exact thing... on second thought I don't think you can buy a brand new golf, cause if I remember correctly all the golfs that were being shipped over here got stripped of their badging and replcaed with rabbit badging... hmmm) but anywho check out the new VW's (buy the rabbit! and then get a hold of the new 2.0 turbo and swap the motor!!!) lol

Re: new car

I just saw a nice brand new Toyota Camry SE with factory stainless steel duals. That is one nice car. I bet it's faster than the regular Mazda 3 or any Civic Si. Anyway, I think they got it right with this one... no gay spoilers with 4 brake lights because they can't remove one of them... haha, nice LEDs, tail light design, aerodynamics, nice V6. It's your choice though so do whatever you want...

Re: new car

My wife has an EVO and yes, it is sweet, but expensive also. i want ot finance less than 16k. mazdaspeed 3 is 31k here, screw that. civic si sedan is 23k but they wont give more than 5k for trade in.

Re: new car

So about what years are you looking into and about what is the amount that your looking to spend????? Still sorry about your loss, but I am sure everyone can help you find a great "family" replacement soon.

Re: new car

i would look at a fit if they had them in stock. the new civic gets about the same gas mileage, if not better and has more power. Coming from a b16 crx and an EVO, i think the fit would annoy me with a lack pf power.

Re: new car

do you really feel the need to go out and get yourself a new car? im gonna guess u wanna be smart with ur money if u went from a mazdaspeed3 to a honda fit.. id prolly consider a older 4 door civic with low miles non smoker..or maybe a newer but used corolla..find something practical and save up a few bucks until your ready for the ms3..whats wrong with the 01 jetta?

First of all he's already basically ruled that car out (Civic Si). Second of all it's not the neon srt-4, it's just the SRT-4 don't disrespect it! Those new around here in florida are only like 15-16,000. He also kinda ruled out the Evo as well, which means the STI is probally out of the picture too (considering he doesn't wanna PAY for another Evo and the STI is more expensive), maybe not the WRX tho. SRT-4's were rated at 215hp and 250tq, they did update that in the later models but not to 300lb-ft I do beleive it was 230hp and 260tq, and it's NOT a neon it has earned it's right to be it's own entity all together.

Re: new car

Im sill not quite sure why the SRT-4 is hated by so many people in the tuner community... I dont get it.
