2006 Malibu Aux In?

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knows if the single CD, 6-speaker stereo with information display has rear Aux inputs?

The front has a "Source", when I press it nothing happens.

I really wish I could of gotten the stereo with the front input, however the dealership only had a vehicle left with a white interior.

If it does have rear inputs, what's the easiest way to pull the stereo out to access them?

Assuming the radio is the same as in the 2005's, the answer is no.
There is a "data" input in the rear that will accomodate the factory CD changer and/or factory XM, but no real aux input.
I did quite a bit of research on this same thing. and it appears that no one sells an adapter. I even bought an adapter from PIE that looked like it would work, but it only works up to the 2003 models (IIRC). After that GM changed the type of bus and the PIE adapters don't work. PIE has no idea when/if they'll make a compatible adapter.
I ended up with a Sony stereo with a front aux input, and a Metra display unit that replicates the information display, mounted below it, both bought from Crutchfield. Works and looks great, but an expensive way to get around it.

Also...just out of curiosity...did your factory stereo seem to have 'less than average' reception?

It seemed to be about what I would expect.
As a side note, if you have the sedan, and you decide to put in an after-market stereo, you need to know that the antenna is in the rear glass, and has an amplifier tucked in the roof above the window. If you don't supply power to the amplifier when you switch out radios, the reception goes to crap, especially AM...

The high end (treble) on FM in mine drops off, then comes back alot, not sure if thats a reception problem or not.
