Unhappy 2005 Mazda 3s ignition- keyless entry doesn't work

I've been having a problem when I remove the key out of the ignition. I have a 5 speed manual transmission and after I press the button on the ignition and remove the key, the keyless entry does not engage and when I open my door there's a chime that tells me that the keyless entry isn't engaged. Then if I try to lock the doors using the keyless entry fob, it doesn't work, and I'm forced to lock the doors by putting my key in the doorlock.

I've already taken it to the dealer and they say I have to get a whole new ignition which means new keys and keyless entry fobs as well. Has anyone else had problems like this????

that should be under warranty. if its a failure of an OEM part within three years it will be under warranty. (other than tyres, battery and as long as its serviced).

i had my Honda bikes instrument panel replaced under warranty. they never questioned it. my father in law has just had his entire dashboard replaced by toyota due to one vent not fitting properly. again they never questioned it.
mazda shouldn't charge for it unless they can prove it your fault

we never had that problem but then we have separate key and fob.
