headunit for old Mercedes

I am going to look at 87 Mercedes SEL today or tomorrow. The owner says that there is no radio… have not asked yet why, but at this point it doesn’t matter, it will need an audio. What would you recommend for a decent set up? I don’t need anything supper extra powerful, but would like something that rivals stock unit in today’s Mercedes and does not look completely out of place in this old of a car. Like I’ve seen so may cars with that silly CD remote Velcro’ed to the front console (my wife included, but at lease it was not my decision) someplace, yuck.
