Re: Help with dull head lights!!!

I used regular window cleaner on mine when I was repairing the lens cover,(actually re-gluing it back on.) I cleaned the inside of the lens and the area that's reflective behind the bulb. Try a small area first, like in a corner when you attempt to clean the reflective part in case the material is fragile due to age and might be prone to coming off. Of course that will only work if your lens covers are off or are removable. If the lenses are on don't try to remove them as they are meant to stay on from the factory. With some vans however the glue used to keep them attached becomes brittle and comes off, which allows the lens to be removed for easy cleaning.
If your lenses don't come off, remove the whole headlamp assembly from the van, make sure the bulb is not attached and use a solution of mild dish soap and water. Swish that mixture around and then rinse with clean water. Try to get as much water out and let air dry, then reinstall.
If that doesn't work then you might have to get a newer set of headlamp capsules. Try looking on eBay as they are sold there quite a bit, and the price for these has come down in the past few years.
