'94 Jetta -- Shakes & Shutters

Hey, I've tried looking through the forum, but couldn't find something that really matched my problem.
My '94 Jetta (Automatic), recently started to really shake & shutter. The car really shakes while stopped, and the (Check Engine Light) often comes on. When I accelerate, the light goes off, and the car shakes still. The faster I go, it feels like its pulling almost.

I know its not the Tranny, but think it could be the ignition wires, or maybe the sparkplugs even though I changed those like 3 months ago.
