spark plug removal

This may seem like a stupid question, but how the heck do I remove the spark plug wires from the plugs? I've got a '97 2.0 and I am totally stymied. Even if I could get a good grip and remove the outer two, there are two more that are basically unreachable by hand. Is there a special tool I need or a technique of which I'm unaware? Thanks!

Re: spark plug removal

I've removed all of them by hand on my 96. You could try to use pliers if you're real careful so you don't tear off the boot. You could also take off the upper intake.
