97 stratus questions

Hello I just picked up a 97 stratus with the 2.4 i was wondering if the 2.4 was a good engine or not.

This stratus has not ran in about 2yrs they said it got hot (don't know if it leaked the antifreeze out or what) At this point it will not turn over. The oil still seems clear with no signs of the famous milkshake symtom. I find there story to be inconsistent they said at first they shut the car off and it never started again. Then they tell me they drove it until it died and would not start. Then I was told one day it would'nt start.

So im just curious what im getting myself into. If these are the harder to find engines.

Re: 97 stratus questions

Here's a shot of your engine. I'd say it is easier to do a lot of work especially a tune-up.......your spark plugs are right there, UNLIKE the 2.5 engine which has 3 in front and 3 deep near the firewall.

2.4

2.5
