Suggestions
OK I know I can probably search for this stuff but I really am getting lazy in my old age. I need to replace some things this winter in my car and I want only the best. Here is what I need to replace and if you could tell me what is the best and where I could get it that would be great.
1. Spark Plugs and wires (Need exact name and details) 2. Timing belt (I have 101000 and pushing my luck) 3. Trany fluid (The best) Anything else you think I should replace at 100,000 miles? Thanks for your help. Dan

Re: Suggestions
Wow you are lazy...
I would throw some NGK plugs in with some MSD wires or something like that. An OEM timing belt will work fine unless you wanna shell out a good bit of cash and get a kevlar timing belt. Then again, they might not even offer them for your car. If anybody would carry them it would be Greddy. Now for the tranny fluid I would go and run something like a mixture of shockproof and syncromesh. Only because I have no idea how durable your 3g trannys are. I know in my tranny I run straight syncromesh but like I said, it could be too thin for your tranny... Don't be scared of the search button. It won't bite you.

Re: Suggestions
I heard Royal Purple trans fluid is supposed to be awesome. When I get around to flushing my trans thats what I am putting in. As for the timing belt, I have heard that the kevlar ones might give your problems, and you are better off using an OEM belt (it was either discussed here on at club3g.com).

Re: Suggestions
I dont know if any of this is true, but from what I remember the main point was that because the kevlar wouldnt flex as much as the OEM belt, instead of breaking, it shreds. Since the belt cant expand at all, the regular belt around the kevlar core might shred....again, not sure if any of it is true, but it sounds like a reasonable explanation. Also from what I remember, it was not a problem with kevlar belts in general, just the ones manufactured for the 3G...so this is not to say that other cars are not better off with a kevlar belt, just not ours.

OK I found lots of different types of this tranny fluid. I do have a 5 speed and I was wondering if that made a difference in what to get? Thanks for your help. Dan
