Caliber Sunroof Deflector

I just purchased an OEM deflector and it uses metal clips that hook to the underside of the roof at the corners. I am a little concerned about creating a leak in the sunroof after install because the clip will be between the sunroof seal and the roof. It seems that many OEM manufacturers use this install technique while some others use 3M tape. Does anyone have any experience with these clips (either on a Caliber or other car)? Is there anything I need to watch out for?
