91' wipers

the wipers and windshield washer on my 91 blazer stopped working. checked the fuse that is fine, would the motor or switch cause both wipers and the washer go out at the same time?

Re: 91' wipers

On a '91 Blazer, the windshield wiper switch could cause the wipers and washer to be inoperative. Both circuits get power from the same fuse. It would be unlikely that the motor would cause the washers and wipers to fail at the same time. Most auto parts stores have the replacement switch. It pulls out of the column and the harness is routed under the column cover. The new switch/turn signal lever just pushes back in.

Re: 91' wipers

Fuses and circuit breakers are all in the fuse panel. Check your owners manual for other accessories that are on the same circuit. If they also are inoperative, the chances are good that the fuse or breaker is faulty.

Re: 91' wipers

Sounds like the Wiper Motor Pulse Board Module is bad, as it also controls the windshield washers. A whole new wiper motor is less than 50 bucks at AtuoZone.

Re: 91' wipers

It's a '91... not equipped with a pulse board in the motor. The pulse module is a separate part and the washer circuit does not go through the module.

Re: 91' wipers

Ok, I was thinking the pulse board activated the wipers when the washers were activated.
