MBTI Assessment
Has anyone else had a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Test completed for them?
Do you remember your type and how it was interpreted? |

The MBTI is the Myer Briggs Type Indicator. This is a method of classifying personality types and is based in part on principles first developed by Carl Jung.

Perhaps you could provide a link so that we may take it.

It would be good if it gave an explanation into the meanings they have defined me by.

Hmmmmm interesting.
But like all such psychological profiles its is flawed by its cultural relativism. However my results are imteresting, and do represent a certian aspect of my psychology that I am aware of. Code:
Your Type is ENTP Extroverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiving 22 33 22 22 Strength of the preferences % Qualitative analysis of your type formula You are: slightly expressed extrovert moderately expressed intuitive personality slightly expressed thinking personality slightly expressed perceiving personality Both read a little to much like a Horoscope for me, in that they are very general and often mention things that anyone can apply to themselves, and none of them cover the negative aspects of the personality type. However there are enough strong well defined statements within them that make some of what they say quite relevent. http://typelogic.com/entp.html is the best, and most accurate. http://keirsey.com/personality/ntep.html is filled with lots of Jargon, but does make some sense.

I change personalities depending upon whom I am around and when I take the test. Usually I get a "concrete" somewhere in the toss... I don't much like the unknown and the theoretical.

Your Type is
INTJ Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging Strength of the preferences % 78 33 33 22 INTJ type description by D.Keirsey INTJ type description by J. Butt and M.M. Heiss Qualitative analysis of your type formula You are: * very expressed introvert * moderately expressed intuitive personality * moderately expressed thinking personality * slightly expressed judging personality This is pretty accurate, I'd say, though I can become extroverted once I am very familiar with people. I dislike any social situation such as a party, dance, concert, etc because there aren't enough rules. I get enough "socialness" in at work, school, etc, anywhere where socializing is not the main activity. I think the reason that I am comfortable 'talking' to people on a forum is that I am free to respond, or not, and I may take as long as I like. Usually it takes a long time to figure out exactly what I want to say and this does not work well in everyday life. I am also the type to have one and only one close friend whom I spend all available social time with. I also am constantly figuring quicker, better, more streamlined ways to do things.

I have taken the whole course about 3 times. I'm always a VERY strong ENTJ. It helps when you know about 8 people with psych degrees. No name dropping, but someone here has the personality known in psychologist circles as 'Profile of a Bitch'.

Hi folks
Sorry I've been afk for a couple of days - playing golf (incidentally very badly) and working on the race car. I've recently been recruited by another organisation and completed a pile of aptitude tests plus an OPQ (a proprietary personality test). As some self-development I did the MBTI and have been reading a book explaining results. When I get a moment I'll explain what the results indicate. Because this is a self-perception test of preferences it may be interesting to compare the results of the MBTI to your own thoughts - and how it compares with your approach to work etc Got to run I have to do some work on the roll cage so I'll catch up and explain a bit more soon. |
