Possibly Clockspring

I have a 94 Intrepid with a 3.3. The body has about 250K on it.

I recently replaced the rack and pinion and both front wheel bearings. Now the ABS light comes on as well as the ABS light. The cruise control works on and off. The ABS light will go off when the car is turned off and back on again. It comes back on when the car is put into gear. The ABS light will also go off when the car is turned off and on again, but returns when the car moves forward.

I would have thought that I damaged the clockspring when replacing the rack and pinion, but the horn still works. I think the ABS light may be unrelated, and is just a bad Wheel Speed Sensor?

If it is the clockspring, short of the dealer, where can I get a new one? The autoparts stores don't carry them.

I replaced a clock spring on my aerostar a few years ago. The wreckers is the best place to get one.

A note of caution, when you put everything together, don't be in front of the airbag when you first turn the key on. An airbag going off with you right in its way can cause some serious personal injury.

Rather, have the battery disconnected, turn the key to on, and then connect the battery cables. If the airbag deploys, you wont be on the recieving end.
