Alrighty.... so me and my bro have traded cars...
so this morning I start going over the engine, fixing all the problems my brother was telling me about... thought I had finished up, so after having gotten everything back together and taking it out for a run, it works great.... Until... this nasty rattling sound started coming from the distributor... sounded like the rotor was shaking around inside or something, or actually it sounded like bearings were grinding or something.... anyways, I didn't have enough day light left to take the damn thing apart and try to figure out what was wrong. But I already did have the distributor cap off and everything cause I put a new rotor on and a new screw in (so as to fix the notorious problem with screws coming out and rotors coming off that the DX engines are prone to) and I didn't see any problems at that time... so I'm at a loss... dunno what to do. Any suggestions?

was the screw tight or did you just look at it. i say take the distrubitor cap off and try start it and see where the noise is coming from. so the starter will spin it and you can see if anything is lose or where the noise is exactly coming from

Yeah, I tightend that baby down... cause I member how my old CRX DX's rotor would always come off...
as far as running it without the cap on, I did that but I can't tell where exactly the noise is coming from... and the only thing that looks loose to me is the shaft that the rotor is on, and it's wobling more then I think it should normally. I think since I'm already not going to be driving it, I'm just going to take the whole distributor out of the car and take it apart piece by piece and see if I can't find out what's wrong. Just ordered a helms manual too, so perhaps that'll help me once it gets here.

The bearings are going in the distributor. Same thing happened to mine and I replaced it before the bearings completely locked up and left me stranded on the side of the road.

HAHA that's what I thought!
Any way to go about replacing them without taking the whole distributor assembly off and apart? and where can I order a new set of bearings from?

As far as the bearings are concerned, I think I found them for sale at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ for like $15.
