Malibu fuel filter connector

Hi. I tried to change out my 2002 malibu's fuel filter today but couldnt figure out the green "quick" disconnect.

Can someone explain what to do once the green tab is released and in the open position? I was able to get to that point.

I pulled but it didnt come off. I think due to the two green parts within the black connector area that surrounds the green tab/lock. These green parts on the inside cannot get around the metal hump of the fuel filter in-line.

Any help is appreciated. Because I couldnt get to it....I get to put it back up on jack-stands at a later date. Thanks.
