RPM Jumping?
Hey you guys,
Back again for some help on my 01 GASE six cylinder. My RPMs jump about 500 rpm back and forth at certain acceleration. At first I figured that it was the TPS, but that was not it. Is there anything electrical that controls specifically the RPM? Any help would be appreciated!!!

Re: RPM Jumping?
You may have a vacum leak causing the surging rpm's.
If you have a CAI and its cold and windy, this causes mine to surge rpm's. No warning lights or other acceleration problems?

I haven't once got a single warning light and I'm not having any other acceleration problems. If I just accelerate a little harder it works just fine...

Re: RPM Jumping?
Well I guess it could be your MAF or something along that line.
I'll have some test procedures up for the MAF soon, like today ![]() The best way to find vacum leaks is to listen for a whisling sounds. Could be any nuber of the vacum lines, both rubber and hard plastic ones.
