Parts List

Hey.

For my 18th birthday my parents are getting me a sweet 1998 Integra GS-R 4dr. Ive been obsessing over this car for a while now. ANd naturally, Ive been compiling a list of the parts i wanna buy when i get it.

I was wondering if you guys could tell me what yall thought about my list, and how much power all this should be worth. any help would be appreciated.

1. AEM Cold air intake
2. Skunk2 Short shifter (it's alot more expensive, but it claims a 50% shorter throw, which is better than the advertised 35% of the cheaper ones. worth the extra money?)

3. DC Sports 4-2-1 Header- i dont wanna trade off mid range power just for an extra 1 or 2 max hp.

4. AEM underdrive pulleys -Orthodox also offers some, but the cost like twice as much...any reason to this?

5. Edelbrock victor-x intake manifold

6. Edelbrock Throttle 65mm TB

After all of this, I want to buy a stage 3 Clutch Master's clutch and a lightened flywheel. I see that ZEX offers a 10 lbs chromoly flywheel, which should be stronger than aluminum, but there are cheaper 7 lbs. aluminum flywheels out there. Any thoughts?

After I buy all this..which should cost about 1000 dollars give or take a coupla hundred, i was thinking a NX nitrous kit. I read somewhere that the stock B18C blocks could handle up to a 110 hp shot of the giggle gas, but im not sure.

All of these mods should give a car that would own in my area. At school there are only a few riceburners (i use the term lovingly) and they only have crappy sounding exhaust tips, racing wings and stickers, and a cold air intake.

Oh and I have one final question. Honestly, how big of pipe should I get for exhaust? I know alot of people will say 3 inch for turbo and 2.5 for NA.

However, I kinda want to know what realy world-hardcore people have to say. I mean There are big block chevy's that dont use bigger than 2.5 in. piping. How much exhaust do our 1.8L block put out? Shouldnt I be fine with the stock exhaust system for a while (not including headers)?

I understand that backpressure isnt all that good, however some backpressure is required, other wise it would kill torque (which we dont have very much of already). Any feedback is appreciated.

-Nolan

1. all decent cold intakes are almost teh same. shop around for a cheap one.
2. not worth teh extra $
3. then get teh 4-1
4. AEM's are good
5. ?
6. why? are you planning on boosting your fuel intake?
Nolan, my advice fo ryou is to buy one thing at a time. things may not work out, others get cheaper, reviews change...etc. You should feel teh change after each mod you do to your car... read teh tech stuff too.
Good luck
