Steering box oil. How to check?

I have an L-200 which is a 1984 pickup.

(i) Can we have a forum for this model please?

(ii) Can anyone tell me how to check manual steering box oil level. It's typical box with input shaft in line with steering column and output shaft at 90 degrees, goes to tie rods etc.
