Re: Question about my cavalier shaking

By any any chance have you had your tires checked?? Could be out of balance or maybe a broken belt in a tire. If that checks out I would get the front end checked out for tie rods and ball joint etc.

Re: Question about my cavalier shaking

my car shakes too, hmm i kinda went drifting one day and i miss the drift and i ran up this little hill of grass/mud and my car got stuck there, and then someone with a pickup truck came by and dragged me out...

but since that day, my car shakes and make a shaking noise when its NOT moving, it feels fine when its moving, but when its in D when im behind a stop light or something, the car shakes, any ideas?

Re: Question about my cavalier shaking

Does it feel like it shifts hard, too?
Have someone watch the engine move while you brake torque the engine a little. If the mounts are bad/broke it should be obvious.

Sounds like it could be the problem for both of ya.

Re: Question about my cavalier shaking

hmm, i dont know if you have this, Deadblade, but on the back of the sunfire, hmm i would say behind the mufflers, there is this steel bar that has holes in it... i think 5 holes total...

sounds like from the back of the car....

oh and i found out something today:

When i drive, i stop at a stop light, my car is in D, it shakes, without doing anything else, by just shifting from D to P, the shake stops... im taking my car into the dealer sometime in April, cuz thats when i will get the free oil change, i will ask the guy at the service station to check it... that is if we cant find a way to fix it... hehe...
