Re: Window tint removel??

Razor blade and GooGone's how I got mine off, and it worked like a charm. The adhesive is water based, my buddy used a spray bottle with soapy water in it and a razor blade, that worked too.

Re: Window tint removel??

I had to use a hand held steamer and plastic scrappers to get it off. I tried a removal kit, Formula 409, GooGone, several GooGone clones, acetone, naptha, and alcohol. Nothing worked for me until I hit it with steam. Just as you found, the tint came off easy enough but, the adhesive was a SOB. Took 6 hours. In my case the stuff was on for 12 years and baked in the sun for most of that time. Use caution around the defrost pattern especially if you use razor blades.

Re: Window tint removel??

You can also go to your local hardware store and buy a bottle of DIF it is a wallpaper remover for the home. It has enzymes in it that will eat the adhesive, usually a lot less scrapping and headache than the GooGone.

That Aircraft coating remover sounds like some serious stuff. Where do you pick up a bottle of that.
