Father son project - "magic" genie appeared
Gee folks I know you want a update !
"Somehow" the magic genie appeared to take care of his troubles via ebay and a plane ride to Fla. I lucked out for once....... 95 Firebird, 79k documented miles, untouched w/carfax data, perfect condition, 3.4, auto. $2500. Drove back home @ 1,016 miles no trouble. Thought the fuel gauge was messed up, but it was due to the outstanding MPG. I'm going to replace the intake gaskets due to the original ones being a POS with rubber and plastic inserts, going with the new aftermarket quality ones. PS - NEED A FRONT LICENSE PLATE BRACKET DUE TO ILLINOIS LAWS. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ONE OUT THERE ? I'LL TAKE CARE OF SHIPPING AND GIVE YOU A FEW BUCKS AS WELL. Any thing else I should do for PM type of work ? I think I got a good one this time. Comments ? Thanks |

we're supposed to have front plates?
![]() Oh yeah, guess I did get a 'reminder' for that ![]() Nice find the car, sounds like a deal, honestly, if you were willing to drive that far for a car, I'd just go to a few boneyards for the plate mount. |

Yeah? We're supposed to have front plates here in the Land of Lincoln? I've got mine. It stays in the trunk:

Re: Father son project - "magic" genie appeared
Funny part is, after seeing this thread, it reminded me, my wife's plates, both of them have been sitting in the front seat since early November.
![]() hmmmm, how long are temps good for? ![]() Back to the front plate subject tho, once, some twit hit my car and broke 1/2 the mount off, so I just finished the duty and kept the whole assembly, plate and all under the passanger seat, so when it came down to the 'road side reminder' I'd just pull it out and say "here it is, somebody broke it off,, have to get another one." Works okay for a while, but when you travel the same exact route, at the same exact times chances of running into the sae peace officer get high.
