I'm so giddy/nervous/happy.

Holy hell, a good friend of mine introduced me one of her friend's and damn....she was gorgeous. The weird part is that we weren't 'officially' introduced you could say. The girl's looked at my myspace and my friend called me up because the other was interested and long story short, we're all gettin together next weekend granted my car is fixed by then.

This has me so fucking nervous, I haven't been on a date since last October and lately I've only had the chance to let my life settle down momentarily, so my social skills are a bit unpolished. Not too mention my last relationship ended up in near Hindenburg (sp?) like catastrophy. AND I'm reporting to basic trianing in roughly a little over 2 months.

Honestly I don't know why the hell I made this thread, I guess I just had to share my happiness/anxiousness. I need to go polish up on my game, lol.

Hey, this is the 21 century, we use color photos now.
But she is definately cute. A little too much mascara on the eyelashes for the picture, but she's a cutie. Here's what I have to say:
1) Don't be nervous, be yourself. You do that all the time and you're (well, you shouldn't) yourself all the time without being nervous. The presence of an individual should not affect who you are. (Even though we, as a society prove this point wrong.)
2) Since you are leaving soon, it seems kinda silly to maybe start something that will come to an abrupt halt in a few months. Obviously, you will be returning, but a 1-2month relationship is not a great foundation to keep something going while away.
3) Get some pics that show some more skin...if you can.

cute, just be careful of the myspace "angles." hahaha, goodluck man, be yourself, dont try to hard, but definately show your interested by suttle comments or actions. opening doors for her, especially car doors, is always a must... maybe a rose or someshit. thats my usual first date moves.

Yea I'm good at just being myself once I get over the initial shyness. I have other pictures, so she's not fat, and I don't know why that one's in black or white, but whatever, lol.

But yea, the whole 2 months thing is gonna be a problem, but its no big deal at the moment. If things go well beforehand, we'll probally just part our ways for the time being and see what happens after BMT.

hey, i'm in a similar spot, except the basic training. but the last relationship ending armageddon style and social skills of a world of warcraft player? yeah. (i don't actually play wow, or i don't think i'd even be seeing women)

best of luck, i guess, don't try and sell yourself, just be calm, cool, and collected. although, she might think it cute or dumb if you stumble and fuck up, lol. its a toss. don't fuck up!! not to get you nervous or anything...

Well I kinda effed up when I first talked to her, but she thought it was cute and "funny", so I feel like that gives me a bit of space for me to accidently make an ass of myself

I'm good at bein a gentleman, and from the scouting report I got fomr her best friend, thats what she really wants. She's tired of guys tryin to get in her pants and what not. Which is a good thing cuz the last person I try to be is a wannabe playa. So I'll see whats up soon enough, I think good things will happen.

But I hear ya on the armageddon and WoW metaphor, at times I just had to step back and think, am I really gonna act like a high school fucktard? But we'll save that story for another day.

Well tonight's the big night. Waxed the car, cleaned the interior. Got the clothes ironed, and I'm about to attend to some "personal" grooming.

Funny thing is that I'm meeting her at a friend's house, and us and a bunch of our mutual friends or going to a damn country club. This shit is going to be EXTREMELY out of my norm. I mean yea I lived in Texas almost all my life, but I'm no where near being country. But its gonna be fun tho, I think its kind of a positive cuz I'm sure I'll be alot more comfortable once me and her start having fun as the night goes on. Wish me luck!
