Arent those rear handles from 4th gen sedan? I've seen peeps do that around here, looks clean and might deter probable thieves too. At least the dumb ones, lol. I hooked up power doorlocks that work on my alarm button with a separate switch inside the car to lock and unlock...this could work for me. I still have the rear hatch to crawl in anyway in case my battery goes dead...

yes, they are off the 4th gen 4 door.

funny you say that. i used to have a friend named Jeremy (no, not my Jer) who owned a th gen. he had everything on his 4th gen shaved off. he's lucky he was a skinny punk...i can't tell you how many times his keypad malfunctioned. he'd have to crawl through the sunroof to open the door. what an idiot. common sense tells me to leave the hatch lock

That thing was great, the hood absorbed the sun, so the car was relatively cool inside.

Actually how hard would it be to put one with a keyhole onto the rear door and have the keyhole actually work? Cause I cant tell you how many times I have wanted to get something out the back and had to open the front door first.

Ehh, fuck it, I should just get keyless, that would be off the hook.

what happen if your battery dies, then you gotta crawl in through the hatch, makes you look stupid. other than that, its cool. just a reminder to guys out there who are thinking about shaving there door handles, just remeber you cant race at the track if you dont have door handles.

What makes you look stupid is when you leave your lights on, so your battery dies, not crawling in through the hatch.

So, Ami, are you gonna post a how-to on that soon?

What all do you have to do to make keyless entry work on 4th gen hatchs? Wouldn't you have to change all the locks to power locks and all that crap?

The easiest method which is the route i took, is that you get a quality alarm, and tell them that you have manual door locks and that you want door lock actuators on them, and then when you arm or disarm your alarm, the locks will lock and unlock. Its a great thing to have. Also, my alarm (Viper 800 ESP) Locks the dorrs once the engine has started, unless you lock or unloack one of the doors manually, then it will unlock both doors, and vice versa.
