Splash shield...passenger side front

Hello everyone. When I replaced the water pump on my 92 Geo Metro, I noticed there was no splash shield in between the wheel and the timing cover that was supposed to be there. Is there any way I could get one of these splash shields? Anyone have one lying around they could give me that's in good condition? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Splash shield...passenger side front

One of my cars was missing one, finally found one in a junk yard for $3.00 I did have to search thru about 15 metros before i found one.. Must be missing on alot of cars. It keeps the water from splashing into the engine compartment.

Re: Splash shield...passenger side front

I'll just buy a new one. Last time I went to a picknpull around here, there's only about 4-5 Geos in there (I see about 20-25 a day driving around everywhere that are still running). I see them just about as much as I see the new mini coopers around. Good to know that people are keeping them up...but it's due to gas prices. Anyway, I'm just gonna buy a new splash shield, it's only like $20, and only have to buy it once and you got it. Although i am somewhat restoring my 92 Geo. Getting close too.

Re: Splash shield...passenger side front

I looked at most of the splash shields available, could only find the fender splash shields, not the one for the engine compartment, passenger side. I want to make sure I get the right one.

My car has the fender splash shields, that go in the wheelwells, but that's not what I need. I need the one that goes by the drivebelts, in between the engine and the side of the engine compartment, on the lower side.

Re: Splash shield...passenger side front

Yep, these are the ones that I was talking about, when i said they are hard to find in a junk yard. If it helps, the 4 door ones also fit the 2 door. I have noticed that it really keeps the water out of the engine compartment. Especially in the area of the altenator. Things stay alot cleaner in there when you have that shield in place. BTW I do have a cleaned up EGR valve for the 5-speed. If you want one it will be $20 paypal shipped to your door. You will need a gasket, but they are cheap and you parts store can get one for you. Let me know if you want it. ( you won't have to spend hours cleaning the carbon out of it, cause I have done that already)!

Sure I'll take a EGR valve. Mine seems to work but I'm unsure as to how "good" it works. Let me know what your email address is for PayPal and I'll send you the $20 tomorrow. I actually recently bought a EGR valve gasket for 60 cents, so that's covered. Thanks again.

Re: Splash shield...passenger side front

I rechecked the links you sent me for the splash shield, but all the links you gave me are for the fender liners, which I don't need. If you do find one from another junk yard let me know and I'll pay you for it. Thanks!
