1997 Cvpi, P71
I just purchased a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria (Police Interceptor). The car has 90,000 police use miles on it. I was just wondering what everyone would recommend as far as maintenance at this point. Transmission Fluid, Rear End...etc. Thanks for your time everyone.

I would do all the fluids, then you know where you are,, and you can start seeing that the car is cared for,, thats what I did.

By now the ball joints and control arm bushings need to be checked as well as the idler and pitman arm, tie rods and center link.

Check the intake manifold as well. If it's still got the all-plastic unit she might blow at any time. I would recommend replacing it as preventative measure unless you like being stranded. Good info on how to do it yourself for about $200 can be found here...
