Air intake question??

I just bought a cold air intake for my 93 civic ex and i was told but some friends that its better to have it like going down to the ground but mine sits in stock postion should i change it or does it matter and if i do change it i live in fl and it rains a lot and floods i dont want it pulling in water becuz ive herd of it happening??? Thanks for anyones help..

i would say leave it in the stock position if it rains alot. who told you to put it going down, thats retarded if your going for clod air intake you should use the weel well area or in or arond your front bumper were ever cold air comes in alot thats not close to the ground. your right if its to close to the ground and you go through a puddle or something it will suck in water.
