Knocking in the rear?
I have a 1993 jeep wrangler and it is making a knocking noise from the back end, sounds like maybe muffler hitting on something, ckecked it out its not that. any ideas I checked the gear oil with my pinkey finger and added some oil but I still hear the knocking, only when in drive. thanks for any help!!

Re: Knocking in the rear?
Is the noise coming from the axle or suspension???
Check around for loose nuts or bolt in the suspension.

Re: Knocking in the rear?
Can you jack it up off the ground and turn the wheels by hand? That might give you an indication whether or not there is any slack in the rear end. Also if you jack it up on the frame you can check the suspension.
