2001 sonata air bag light issue
2001 sonata
the airbag light comes on and stays on as i drive. i noticed as i drove up a hill, the light shut off, but when i hit a bump--it came back on and stayed on. the dealer said to reach under the front seats to feel around for anything that could bump the snesors (?) nothing found. the dealer doesn't see anything worng--but if the light is one--something is wrong-- right? i don't want to be charged $40 again for another diagnostic.

Re: 2001 sonata air bag light issue
Well, I have a 2001 also and mine went on 2 yrs ago and they said it was a wire under seat that was disconnected. Last week came on and I brought it down and was advised my passenger air bag needs to be replaced @ $450 and I would have to pay for it.
Needless to say, cost me $99 for them to put on diagnostic to find this out. I did not get fixed due to I will not pay for it to be fixed. I dont like air bags(know 2 many peeps that have gotten really hurt from these) and If I had my choice I wouldnt even have them in my car!!!! Seat belts are enought to keep you safe for all these years and now they have these things put in your car and expect you to pay for them to be fixed. Sorry but air bags are a real sore topic w/me, I never liked them from day 1 and I think they s/b an option in your car, if you want them then you pay for them to be in there. |
