Replace 95 Town Car Washer pump

Hi
How do I replace my 95 towncar washer pump and where is it located. Is this a hard job that the repair shop needs to do?

First, you'll need to verify the actual problem... The good news is, you can do all this yourself...

Start with the simple stuff, not necessarily in the order of my small list.
  • Fuses?
  • Multi Function Switch?
  • Loose or disconnected wire?
  • Empty water bottle?, Cracked & leaking?
  • Water hoses from the water bottle?
  • Spray nozzles clogged?
  • Water pump?

Washer System, Windshield
The windshield washer system consists of:

Two windshield washer nozzle jet and brackets located on the cowl top panel.

A windshield washer pump. It is activated by pushing in on the outboard end of the multi-function switch.

The activated multi-function switch energizes a windshield washer pump mounted inside a cavity in the windshield washer reservoir.

The windshield washer reservoir is mounted on the RH fender apron.

Regarding just the Pump;

Washer Pump and Seal Assembly, Windshield
Removal

1. Remove windshield washer reservoir assembly as outlined.

2. Using a small-blade screwdriver, pry out windshield washer pump, being careful not to damage plastic housing.

3. Remove one-piece seal/filter and inspect for damage or debris.

Installation

1. Insert seal.

2. Lubricate inside diameter of seal with soapy solution and insert windshield washer pump into cavity until it is firmly seated in the seal.

3. CAUTION: Do not operate windshield washer pump until fluid is added to windshield washer reservoir.

Connect electrical plugs and window washer hoses and install windshield washer reservoir as outlined.

4. Fill windshield washer reservoir slowly (otherwise air will be trapped in windshield washer reservoir causing it to overflow) and operate windshield washer pump.

5. Check for leaks.
