Question 96 tranny gone will a 95 fit?

I have a 96 tahoe and the tranny (LE60) pump broke. I have opportunity to buy a 95 without engine with 49,000 mi. on tranny ($700). Will tranny fit? I'm told the wiring harness has to be changed by removing valve body but the unit itself is the same. Is this more trouble than it's worth? The 96 is pushbutton 4x4 and the 95 is manual shift but I dont believe this to be a big deal.

Wiring can usually be changed from your old one if good.
Better have bone yard check interchange book.
Not sure about the transfer case deal.
Also check for 4L60-e or 4L80-e transmission.
