Did the new motor come with the a new board on it?Simply put,did you just put the new motor on the van?No remove and replace of parts and pieces.

Re: wiper problem/new motor same prob./switch $300

if the issue is that the wipers won't park properly, it may be a computer thing...I had it happen 2 times. i thought something was wrong, but then after a combination of turning ignition off, switching wiper switch on and off, it parked. I did not note the pattern, but the Ventures do program various things, and I think you may want to try to "reprogram" the wipers through a series of turning switch/ignition on and off.

i.e., power locks and whether they lock when shifting out of park, unlock, or only one and not the other, etc., are programmed by a series of button presses and switches activations.

Just because you bought a new motor doesn't mean the motor is good especially if you bought it from Autozone or other discount parts place.

Re: wiper problem/new motor same prob./switch $300

Someone I work with just had a problem with ice and the wipers. It bent one of the connector arms and the wipers wouldn't work. Might want to check that out.

Question Re: wiper problem/new motor same prob./switch $300

Hi:
I'd like to know how you solved the problem, if you did. I had the exact same thing happen to my wipers during the ice storm Thurs night. They only work on high speed!

Re: wiper problem/new motor same prob./switch $300

I had the problem similar, that the wipers always stopped on the vertical stroke, on the windshield. I bought the circuit board and the cam mechanism that mounts on top of the motor. After I took off the black plastic cover that mounts on top of the cam mechanism, I saw that the cam was filthy, and had not lube. So I sprayed about a half can of penetrating oil and lithium grease on, in, and under it, Operated it for a while, now it works great!! Took the parts back to the dealer!! If you are experiencing the wiper in the line of sight problem, give it a try!!

Re: wiper problem/new motor same prob./switch $300

How hard is it to get the motor out to clean the cam. My wife is freaking out 'cuz the windshield wiper are broke. They work fine just don't park, they are standing up like the Van is flipping me the bird . A couple of week ago the blades got destroyed because she let the snow build up in the parking area at the bottom of the windshield until they collided, I don't know if this has anything to do with the no park issue.

If the bolt holding the cam onto the motor was slightly loose, it could just be a matter of realigning the system.

Disconnect the wipers from the cam at the ball joint. Run the wipers on delay until it stops in the pause position. Turn off the ignition. Remove the cam and clean and lubricate it. Check to see if the spring on the clasp on the bottom as broken. If it has, you are SOL and need a new one. If it hasn't, reattach the cam so that there is approximately 1/8" between the catch on the frame and the V in the clasp. Tighten everything down and reattach the ball joint. Test your wipers to make sure they are working properly.

Re: wiper problem/new motor same prob./switch $300

Hey CDRU thanks for the tip. I took the cam off the WSW motor and discovered that the lever which latches the cam mechanism when the WSW motor is turning backwards to park the wipers had worn a groove in the plate that it jams against. I guess Chevy didn’t bother to lube it when they put it together. To fix it I just knocked the plate towards the cam about an 1/8” with a chisel and slapped some white lithium grease on it. I used your procedure for aligning the cam so the wipers parked correctly. A little locktite on the bolt and she works like a charm.
