04 sunfire gauges

I have a 04 sunfire and my gauges are messed up...don't know how it happen or what is causing it...speedometer says I'm going 80 or higher when I'm stopped and the gauge for the RPM/s says I'm at about 5 or 6...what is causing this and how do I fix it??? HELP!! PLEASE

WHen you turn the car off do the needles park where they are suppose to?

Possibly issues are a bad wheel speed sensor loacted on the steering knuckels where the gruves from the CV shaft pass under. Its a little black unit with 1 bolt/screw holding it in place..

You need a new VSS sensor- Dealership only part and i will not tell you the location of this one due to the tampering can alter the saftey of the vehicle.

Main harness going into the cluster is faulting out.

Depending on when you bought you 04 in 2004, you still may be able to swing the gm warrenty on your car.

No the needles don't go back to zero they stay where they are at. Would it still be the same problem??

is this expensive?
