Signal

Hey my 1990 Chevy Lumina Euro seems to have a bad turn signal. My friend has an old Lumina and he sais he will sell me the turn signal out of it. NE one know how hard it is to replace this myself? And if so, how do I do it. Thanks.

Re: Signal

Welcome to AF!! It's not too difficult. I had to replace mine. Depending on what your symptoms are, it could either be the signal or the flasher (which is located under the drivers side dash panel). Assuming it's the switch you've got to first remove the steering wheel (pullers can usually be rented at auto parts stores). From there it gets a little bit more complicated. I can't remember exactly what must be done, so I'll have to let someone else explain how to finish the job.

Re: Signal

If you follow the Haynes or Chiltons manual instructions (the proceedure is on Auto Zones web site), they forget to tell you that you have to remove the bolt in the center of the terminal block where the T/sig switch wires plug in under the dash. Without removing that bolt, you can't remove the old swtich harness. The job isn't technically difficult, but threading the new switch wiring down the steering column can be a little frustrating. As mentioned earlier, you'll need a steering wheel puller and lock plate removal tool to do the job.

Sorry guys this thread has been closed for obvious reasons. I don't think we should give advice to a non deserving member that has been banned.
