Missed opportunity

I was looking at the used cars. They had at a Chevy parking lot sale and they had a ’95 Nissan 240SX. It was an auto, red, with 160 K (high way miles) and a clean title for $2,600
I took it to my mechanic and he said that it had a little rattle in the engine, that was probable a loose a-arm guide and that I could probable be fix by putting synthetic oil in it. The tires and the rear struts wear also shot. The front passenger quarter panel had been repaired (which they told me) and the air bag light was on (which he said was a bad sensor) but he still said it was a good deal.
I offered $2,100 as is or $2,600 and they fix the sensor and put new tires on it.
They accepted $2,100 but my mom said we couldn’t buy a new car until we get rid of one of the six we have. It was a week long sale and two day’s later it was gone.
Did I missed a good deal? What do you think?

Re: Missed opportunity

not really a GREAT deal. With the problems it had and the fact that its an auto with 160k. But, if i had the extra cash i would have bought it probably,
