96 LeSabre error code

Went to Autozone after check engine light came on...code they gave me was P10108 (map sensor/barometric pressure) Tried cleaning MAF Sensor and replaced spark plug wires...still no good....any other suggestions? Car runs fine temp running low at 150 and oil pressure running a little low also...thanks

I think you are working on the wrong parts! MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor is on the intake manifold. It measures intake vacuum/pressure and barometric pressure, therefore its name, "Manifold Absolute Pressure". It is also used (along with many other inputs) for determining air/fuel ratio. In addition to a bad MAP sensor, an engine misfire, vacuum leak, or unstable idle can set this code! Did the code come back after it was cleared?

Do you know if anyone has changed the PCV valve? There is supposed to be a spring in between the top of the PCV valve and the black plastic housing that holds the manifold pressure sensor. The spring holds the PCV valve in place to prevent vacuum and oil leaks. Without it, you will have a vacuum leak and incorrect manifold vacuum readings and a MAP code.

Not sure....but I did get a new map sensor and the light went off....temp and oil gauge are still low though

Glad to hear you got the MAP sensor fixed...
I didnt know there was a MAP sensor in the 94'.

Those are relatedly different areas of troubleshooting..
Temp may be the sensor or the thermostat.
Oil guage could be the sensor or unhappily the oil pressure IS low. Try a heavier oil 10 w 40.

Both the Oil Pressure sensor and the thermostat failed in my94' car... Should be 180F and 40psi. for the oil.
Luckily they are very easy to replace also.
